We take great pride in our outstanding curricular provision for pupils. We apply a thematic approach to curriculum design, coherently linking units of work to provide children with relevant, motivational work eg. building a willow tunnel in our school grounds as part of our science curriculum. We also work in partnership with outside agencies such as Fountains Abbey and Harrogate Hospital. Many pupils take advantage of the high quality music tuition availabe - strings, brass, piano, guitar, ukelele, recorders and steel band.
After school there are many opportunities for extra-curricular development, with current provision including steel band, choir, football, badminton, multisports, and gardening club, to name but a few. This year our pupils have had the opportunity to work with professional football and tennis coaches.
Children attend a large number number of out of school visits. Our newsletters give details of these. All of our visits are subsidised by our school fund or Friends Association.
Visiting "experts" ensure that first hand learning is available, this year a chocolatier, a scientist and surviving evacuees from World War II have been some of our expert visitors.
